Background Info
Duane W. Udd has been writing "Message Poetry" off and on for over four decades.  His poems are
sometimes prophetic and often polemical.  He has been preaching for the past forty-nine years and
identifies strongly with the prophet Ezekiel, who was a Watchman in Israel.  For more than two decades,
Duane was based in Mutare, Zimbabwe, where he is the Chairman of One Way Ministries.  He and his wife,
Carol (who was born in Melbourne, Australia), have shared in a pastoral, Christian educational and
counseling ministry as well as overseeing a wide-ranging outreach of evangelism, relief and development,
through Mission to Mozambique, which is part of One Way Ministries.  Duane graduated with honors from
Seattle Pacific University in the State of Washington, U.S.A, after which he completed three years of
advanced studies at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey, U.S.A. ( including an internship year
as a Social Worker in South Central Los Angeles, just after the riots in the mid-sixties).  Communications
and Counseling have been focal points in his life preparation and vocation.  In Australia he created an
innovative paradigm called:
Life-Flow Counseling.  Duane has spoken internationally at conferences and
on television and radio.  Currently, he is broadcasting on
www.swradioafrica.com transmitting out of
London, England and has been invited by
www.christiannetcast.com to do programs on the first Christian
T.V. Network on the Web, when it becomes operational.  He accepts invitations to preach in many
denominations and speaks at meetings of service organizations and a variety of other groups.  He is a
prolific poet and, apart from being a columnist for some years, has been a frequent contributor to
magazines and newspapers.  Duane has published one book of poems entitled,
A Tale of Woe or
Zimbabwe, O Zimbabwe which deals primarily with the tragic circumstances in Zimbabwe under the Mugabe
regime.  Another book,
Chapters in Verse: A poetic rendition of selected Bible Stories, will hopefully be
published as soon as funds permit.  From time to time, Duane has been sought out as a Creativity
Consultant in the area of Public Relations and Advertising.  Along with others, Duane and Carol were
instrumental in the creation of the first Family Aids Counseling Trust in the nation of Zimbabwe.  He has
served as Chairman of the Mutare Ministers‚ Fraternal, Mutare for Jesus, and on the National Executive
Committee of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe.  He is a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship of
Churches and Ministers International. His life verse is: Phil. 3:10 - That I may know him, and the power of
his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings. His favorite quote is: "God loves you too much to
leave you the way you are!"  His perspective is: "We are all works in progress!"  His prayer is: Psalm 138:8
"The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth forever: forsake not the
works of thine own hands."
